01 / REFERENCE
Describe the silhouette, essential lengths, weight and movement. Separate the cut from the styling in the photograph.
02 / CONSULTATION
Ask what the client wants to keep from the image. Consider head shape, texture, density, daily styling and the lengths they are comfortable with.
03 / STRUCTURE
Use the universal Anchor System™ to map the head. Place critical Length Points to secure the Style Range™, then decide Layer Lines and Surface Architecture.
04 / CUT
Consider how defined, curved, broken or diffused lines will affect weight and movement. Make each choice serve the agreed structure.
05 / RESULT
Check silhouette, proportion and movement against the shared intention. Record what worked and what you would change on your next attempt.
A reference shows the result. JIN CUT DRILL™ looks at the decisions beneath it: where length is kept, where weight is removed and how the surface moves.
Style Range™ is the range within which the finished haircut still belongs to the client’s desired destination. Secure it through critical Length Points before creative execution begins.
Coordinate. A universal sectioning system for mapping the human head. It uses anatomical reference points that can be identified consistently regardless of ethnicity, head size, or head shape. Its four foundational divisions are Vertical Line, Anchor Line™, Face-framing Section and Ear-Level Line. The individual head changes. The system does not.
Structure. Place the lengths needed at specific locations in the finished haircut using the Anchor System™. The collection and relationship of Length Points defines the style.
Function. Points come first. Once Point A and Point B are established, decide how the hair between them should function. Direction × Line Quality = Function.
Expression. Design texture, separation, density, weight, air, movement and finish.
