JIN CUT DRILL™ is not an education system for memorizing predetermined haircuts.
It teaches stylists how to read a reference, understand the finished result as structure, secure the successful range first, and then use their own creativity to build the haircut.
Today, clients have access to an endless number of hairstyles through Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok and other platforms.
Clients increasingly arrive with their own saved references.
But much of haircut education is still organized around memorizing individual styles:
“How to cut a Wolf Cut.” “How to cut a Butterfly Cut.” “How to cut a Bob.”
When a new style appears, stylists have to learn another haircut.
JIN CUT DRILL™ takes a different approach.
JIN CUT DRILL™ is not a collection of haircut tutorials.

CLIENT GOAL / REFERENCE
The starting point of JCD is not technique. It is the client goal / reference.
First ask:
“What does this client love about this reference?”
Then stop treating the reference as simply a photograph. Read it as structural information.

03 — THE JCD SYSTEM
Four fundamental structures.
Coordinate → Structure → Function → Expression.
01 — COORDINATE
ANCHOR SYSTEM™
A universal sectioning system for mapping the human head.
The system uses anatomical reference points that can be identified consistently regardless of ethnicity, head size, or head shape.
It establishes four foundational divisions:
Vertical Line — A vertical line established from the highest point above the ear.
Anchor Line™ — A horizontal line, parallel to the floor, established from the midpoint of the Vertical Line. This is the primary reference line for building the hairstyle.
Face-framing Section — The defined frontal section of the head.
Ear-Level Line — A horizontal line, parallel to the floor, established from the highest point above the ear.
The individual head changes. The system does not.

02 — STRUCTURE
LENGTH POINTS
Using the Anchor System as the coordinate map, place the lengths that need to exist at specific locations in the finished haircut.
A STYLE IS A COLLECTION OF LENGTH POINTS.
Butterfly, Wolf, Hush, Mullet, Shag, Bob, etc. are not fundamentally defined by their names. The collection and relationship of Length Points creates the recognizable style.
POINTS DEFINE THE STYLE.
03 — FUNCTION
LAYER LINES
This is where Layer Lines enter the system. JCD does not begin by choosing a Layer Line and forcing the haircut to follow it.
The Length Points come first. The Layer Lines come after.
Once Point A and Point B are established, the stylist decides how the hair between those points should function.
Texture / Separation / Density / Weight / Air / Movement / Finish
This is where another level of the stylist’s personal expression enters the haircut.
DESIGN THE SURFACE.
04 — STYLE RANGE™
SECURE THE DESTINATION. THEN CREATE THE JOURNEY.
This is one of the central ideas of JIN CUT DRILL™.
A reference does not have one single mathematically exact answer. But there is a range within which the finished haircut still belongs to the client’s desired destination.
Outside that range, it becomes a different haircut.
JCD secures that range through the critical Length Points before creative execution begins.

At this stage, the stylist is already inside the successful destination.
05 — THEN CREATE
FREEDOM WITHIN STRUCTURE.
Once the Style Range™ is secured, creativity can expand.
The stylist may use:
Straight lines.
Curves.
Disconnection.
Texture.
Different cutting techniques.
Different approaches for bone structure, density and natural texture.
The goal remains protected while the journey becomes personal.

The 11 Styles are NOT 11 haircut recipes. They are 11 reference-reading drills.
Butterfly / Wolf / Shag / Hush / Bob / Mullet / Pixie / etc.
Different references are used to repeatedly practice the same thinking process:
The goal after completing the 11 drills is NOT: “I know how to cut 11 hairstyles.”
The goal is: When the stylist sees the 12th reference — a haircut they have never seen before — they can read it, map it, understand it and build it independently.
